Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta

bacon cheeseburger pastaThe idea of choice

This bacon cheeseburger pasta is a simple and easy dish to make. Add a salad on the side, and you have a complete meal. Or, you can add green beans and applesauce to make it kid-friendly.

For this recipe, you choose the pasta you will use. You can use shell, bow-tie, or penne noodles. When you’re doing the cooking, you also choose how much onion and garlic flavor you add. The mustard is optional but it adds a cheeseburger flair to the dish. This bacon cheeseburger pasta reminds you of a bacon cheeseburger without the bun.

I’ve discovered that cooking the pasta longer than the “required” time helps stretch your dish. The pasta becomes softer and larger. If you’ve got teenagers with bottomless pits, this helps make their servings larger without adding more pasta to the pot. I learned this secret from a mom of seven. We were cooking over an open fire at a campground and weren’t sure we had enough macaroni to feed our dozen kids. We did, thanks to her secret.

You might not think that’s a good idea, but when the pasta is mixed in a dish like this, no one will notice. If you don’t have as much pasta as you need, add more water to the pot and cook it a little longer.

With this recipe, you can use the pasta you have in your pantry. Try bow-tie, penne pasta, wide noodles, or large shell macaroni.

Fix it fast and reheat

This dish is an easy one to reheat later when you need something fast if not everyone is able to sit down at the table at the same time. It also sticks to the bones so it’s great for hard-working guys and hungry always-hungry kids.
