Homemade Chocolate Syrup
Chocolate made
For this homemade chocolate syrup, you only need two ingredients. I learned all about this from my great-niece, Emma, who informed me that, even though this syrup is “not really healthy”, it’s worth every bite.
Then she showed me how.
Real butter and chocolate chips. Oh, you’ll want some ice cream to go with the finished product, of course!
Emma informed me that her mom got the recipe from our mutual friend Anna.
“We were at Anna’s house one night and she made this syrup and I just could not get enough of it,” Emma said. “So my mom got the recipe. I figured that since we have some ice cream in the freezer, I might as well make some syrup to go with it.” So we did.
Ingredients for chocolate syrup
Use real butter for flavor, taste, and health.
1 stick of real butter + 1 cup of chocolate chips. How simple is that?!
Begin by melting the butter over low heat in a kettle.
Once the butter is melted, remove the pan from the heat.
Next, add the chocolate chips and stir. Continue to stir gently until all the chips are melted.
A child can do this easily, with a bit of supervision, of course.
Let the party begin!
Pour the chocolate syrup over any ice cream you’d like, or over top of an éclair if you’d rather. For leftover syrup, put it into a container and refrigerate. To re-use, heat the syrup in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds.
Enjoy!
