Baked Rice
A reason to bake rice
Baked rice is an easy dish to make. Utilize your oven for more than one dish at a time, and you’ve save hassle and time. If you have some barbecue or chicken that “needs to be used up”, add some rice to the menu for added interest. What I like most about baked rice is that I can put it in the oven and forget it, and I often use this recipe when I’m doing a baked chicken in the oven at the same temperature.
When you’re already baking something in your oven and plan to serve rice with your main dish, use this recipe. It’s one of those “put it in the oven and forget it” recipes, and it works. This might not be the recipe you want to use if it’s a hot day and you don’t want to make your kitchen hotter. But it’s getting colder outside, and this is the perfect recipe if you’re make a chicken or stir-fry dish and need some rice.
Ingredients for baked rice
You need the usual ingredients: rice, water, butter, and salt. Add any other seasonings if you’d like, of course. Put the ingredients together and put your dish – with a cover – in the oven. Normal baking time is 45 minutes. If you’re make a triple or quadruple batch for a large amount of folks, it might take an additional 5-15 minutes.
