Cheeseburger Casserole
Easy one dish cheeseburger casserole.
I found this cheeseburger casserole recipe when my kids were young. It became an instant hit. Easy to put together, and tasty. I usually served applesauce and a green vegetable (green beans or a salad) with this dish. It’s a great dish for kids because it has the base ingredients of kids’ favorites: Cheeseburger or Sloppy Joe, Spaghetti, or Pizza. It’s a quicker recipe than any of these, and something your littles can help prepare. They will love putting the cheese slices and biscuits on the top!
Tips about this recipe
I learned a few thing over the years that helped make this cheeseburger casserole taste better. The recipe calls for American cheese. Use American cheese! You can use cheddar or swiss, but don’t try to go with a harder cheese. Use refrigerator biscuits that are small instead of large. I’ve tried both and my kids didn’t notice the difference. Smaller biscuits bake quicker, and the insides get done more evenly. You can try to make your own biscuits, but it’s just not the same. My kids will tell you this, and so you can guess how I know. You can use regular or buttermilk biscuits. You can use generic brands but you don’t need to. I’m just saying that in this case, it doesn’t matter as far as texture and taste.
