Easy Mock Devonshire Cream

Celebrate with cream

This mock Devonshire Cream recipe is simple, easy to make, and delicious. Use it to celebrate fresh fruit of the season or on scones. Fix it the day ahead to make serving it easier, or fix it the day of your event.

I have used this on both scones and fruit, and I like it either way.

You need four ingredients: cream cheese, sour cream, confectioners’ sugar, and heavy whipping cream.

What is this cream?

Clotted cream. Clotted cream is a thick cream made by indirectly heating full-cream cow’s milk using steam or a water bath and then leaving it in shallow pans to cool slowly. During this time, the cream content rises to the surface and forms “clots” or “clouts”, hence the name
