Orange Fluff

Salad or Dessert

Orange Fluff. Some folks call this a salad, and some folks serve it as dessert. Since it has jello and cottage cheese, pineapple and cool whip, you can call it whatever you like. I serve Orange Fluff as a salad because it has more “salad” than “dessert”, me thinks.

You need four ingredients, and you can use low fat, no fat, and sugar-free if you’d like. Or use the 4% fat and the jello with sugar. It’s your choice.

Dissolve the jello (sugar-free or regular) in the pineapple and juice. Add cottage cheese and cool whip (low fat or regular), then chill until set. It’s ready to go. How simple is that?! This really is a cool and refreshing salad but it works well at any time of the year.

Benefits of Jello

There are many benefits of jello. Jello contains protein and amino acids. This promotes joint, nail, hair, and gut health.  This recipe also contains protein in the cottage cheese. If you have someone who needs extra protein, this orange fluff is a great dish to serve. In addition, pineapple adds a fruit component to the dish.

I use no-sugar jello because the added fruit and cool whip adds sugar to the dish as it is. You can also make a double batch and use half sugar-free and half regular jello.
