Sweet Baked Ham

This recipe takes time but is not labor intensive. It gives a different twist to ham or ham sandwiches, guaranteed.

- 5-7 lb. bone-in ham pre-cooked; butt or shank portion - I used hickory smoked flavor
- 3 + cups white distilled vinegar and 6 cups water (2 parts water to 1 part vinegar)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons ground dry mustard
Place ham in kettle large enough to cover ham with 1-2 inches of liquid
Add 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar, enough to cover the ham 1-2 inches
Simmer for 3 hours
Remove from liquid and allow to cool
Shred ham
Mix brown sugar and mustard
Place half ham in a baking dish - 9 x 9 or larger
Sprinkle brown sugar mixture on top of ham
Put remaining ham on top of sugar mixture
Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar mixture on top
COVER TIGHTLY with tin foil.
Bake for 1 hour at 325.
