Buns and Bread with Milk
Bread with milk makes a soft dough. Use this for dinner rolls or loaf bread.

- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
- 1/3 cup lard (or shortening) OR butter
- 2 Tbsp salt
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 1/2 cups cold water
- 3 Tbsp yeast
- 6-8 cups flour
Mix the first FIVE ingredients in microwave bowl and heat in microwave for 3 minutes
Put cold water in mixing bowl and add the first mixture, then add flour
Gently mix in yeast and let sit until yeast is "absorbed" in flour mixture
Add 3-4 cups additional flour to make dough a proper consitency
Put dough into a greased bowl
Let the dough rise and punch down
Let dough rise again
Shape dough into rolls or loaves and put into greased pans
Let rise until double
Bake rolls at 350 for 20 minutes OR bake bread for 30 minutes
