Homemade Meatballs

meatballs The history of these meatballs

Meatballs are a comfort food. This meatball recipe has been in our kitchen for almost thirty years. We lived in Virgilina, a small town on the border of Virginia and North Carolina, right next door to a couple that our kids called Grampa and Granny Murray. In addition to being great next-door neighbors and role-models for our kids, we experienced friendship. Pearl Murray gave this recipe to me. When I make this, I’m back in her kitchen again.

You’ll need regular ingredients. I’ve started blending the bread in a blender because it’s easier to add to the meatballs. But you can do it however you want. The ingredients for this recipe are things you already have in your kitchen, so it’s an easy recipe and an easy fix. Plus, they’re down-home good meatballs!

I like to serve these over rice, but you can serve them over spaghetti noodles if you’d rather.
